What beats what
Every poker decision starts with knowing what beats what. Find your best five cards, from your two and the five shared, in every hand.
You were part-way through this lesson, at step 1 of 7.
In Texas hold'em, each player makes the best hand of five cards from their own two cards and the five shared cards, using any mix of them. From best to worst: straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair, and high card. Here your ace and king of hearts join the queen, jack and ten of hearts: a straight flush, the best hand there is.
